The Five W's of Web Site Evaluation

Thought this might make a good classroom or computer lab poster to reinforce the skill of becoming a good information user....
Hoax Site (Snopes.com)
This site is cool, it has a bunch of Internet "rumors" & a Truth/False Rating Key so kids can see what is true, false, or has not yet been determined true/false. See what's only a rumor on the "Deadly Animals" page: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/animals/animals.asp
What's also cool is when you click on the article itself it shows you what was REALLY posted to the Internet & in what year (unless this site is a hoax in iteself.... :)

Thanks, Lisa! I plan on printing that poster and tacking it on my wall in front of the computers. I still haven't done a wiki lesson with my kids, and I want to have that up when I speak about Wikipedia and other websites.
ReplyDeleteSnopes is a great website! I also count on it to quell frightening rumors.
